Poem written after the earthquake

Children of Christchurch
I am a child
I am all I see
Crack in the Grand Plaza
Buildings that have moved
I am all I hear
People crying
People laughing
I am all I feel
Ground opening up
Pain for those who died
I am all I smell
Sewerage
Dirt in the air
I am all I taste
Liquefaction
Sausages for tea
I am all I remember
Crying
On the floor in the cloakbay
I am all I think
My house is munted
Living somewhere else
I am a child of Christchurch
